Why do I need a “Terms of use” for my personal blog, you ask? First of all, let me emphasize the fact that I am absolutely delighted that you stopped by, and that you are taking you time to read this. I maintain this blog for my self, and having readers and contributions by the form of comments is encouraging me to keep blogging. It also feeds my mind with new ideas, and challenges my way of thinking. I hope I am able to do the same for you. This is why we need these terms of use – think of them as guidelines that will help everyone have a pleasant user experience over time.

  1. You must use either your real name or nickname when commenting. If it even looks suspicious your comment will be deleted as spam. I use the Akismet spam filter, and I read all comments that are added, too.
  2. Do not leave comments just to leave a comment. From reading other blogs and websites, I have found that it is quite common to leave a bunch of comments without even reading the articles. All of these will be deleted.
  3. You must not post any SPAM, links to Spam, Phishing sites, or other harmful content here. Santa Clause will not bring presents this Christmas of you do. Also, your spam is just deleted anyway, so you are wasting your own resources as well as mine.
  4. Mind your manners. Challenge my thoughts and ideas if you will, but let’s keep things civil. Also, any kind of racist, sexist or other kind of harmful comments will be deleted.
  5. All content belongs to this website, and is protected by copyright. This even includes comments made by visitors. Please note that the comments do not express the viewpoints of the owner of this blog. Feel free to use the content on your own website however, provided that you provide a link back to this site, and state the source as Paul Wicking.

I reserve the right to edit or delete comments at my own discretion.
